MAYPEARL


Maypearl is on FM Road 66, ten miles southwest of Waxahachie in western Ellis County.  The settlement, originally called Eyrie, had a post office from 1894 to 1903.  The name was changed to Maypearl on June 25, 1903, in honor of the daughters of two officials of the International-Great Northern incorporated in 1910 and had a population of 417 by 1920.

                                                           

Today Maypearl has forward to the future.  We now have several striving businesses, Maypearl Feed Store, Maypearl Mercantile, The Cowboy Bank, David´s Supermarket, AllState Insurance Agency, LEC Wireless, and Panther´s Den, just to name a few.  As far as entertainment, we have the best Karaoke Bar in Ellis County: The Busy Bee.  Get your body in shape with some personal training at Maypearl Body Shop.  Maypearl School District is a TEA Recognized District.  The Maypearl Chamber of Commerce was started in 2005 to help support all the great business in Maypearl and benefit the citizens of Maypearl as well.   Check out the websites for further information.
