Maypearl is on FM Road 66, ten miles southwest of Waxahachie in western Ellis County. The settlement, originally called Eyrie, had a post office from 1894 to 1903. The name was changed to Maypearl on June 25, 1903, in honor of the daughters of two officials of the International-Great Northern incorporated in 1910 and had a population of 417 by 1920.
Today Maypearl has forward to the future. We now have several striving businesses, Maypearl Feed Store, Maypearl Mercantile, The Cowboy Bank, David´s Supermarket, AllState Insurance Agency, LEC Wireless, and Panther´s Den, just to name a few. As far as entertainment, we have the best Karaoke Bar in Ellis County: The Busy Bee. Get your body in shape with some personal training at Maypearl Body Shop. Maypearl School District is a TEA Recognized District.
